Team Membership at The Sullivan County
SPCA was created to give community
members the opportunity to have a voice
at the shelter, to hear and learn about
shelter operations from experienced and dedicated shelter personnel, and
to contribute valuable and thoughtful feedback. Your Team Membership
enables you to affect change for the better at the county’s busiest animal
rescue organization. It gives you a voice that allows your opinions and
feelings to be heard and is one of the best ways that you can make a
difference in the future of our organization.
Team Members:
Three easy steps to becoming a Team Member:
STEP 1
Attend a Team Member meeting! It all starts here. Interested parties attend
a minimum of three consecutive Member Meetings prior to applying for
Team Membership. CLICK HERE for the Member Meeting schedule.
Volunteer a minimum of 4 hours*. There are lots of fun ways to volunteer!
Help at an adoption drive or fundraiser, walk the dogs or cuddle with the
cats, assist in mail campaigns, etc.. There’s something to suit the interests
of everyone! *Volunteer time must include a minimum of one hour of time
on-site at the shelter.
The final step in becoming a team member is to be sponsored by a Senior
Team Member (a Senior Team Member has been a Team Member for at least
one year.) How do you do this? Easy! As you enjoy steps 1 and 2, you’ll
meet plenty of people who will be happy to sponsor you. Then once a year,
donate $25 for your membership dues.

- Are involved in the nominating and voting process for annual Board of
Directors elections - Attend monthly meetings to discuss shelter activities
- Are eligible to run for open positions on the shelter’s Board of
Directors (Nominees for Board positions must have been active members
for at least 6 months) - Enjoy a fun and rewarding activity that provides the opportunity to
meet new friends who share the same interest…a love of animals!
